The Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan is hosting two Fireflies of the Flint Hills walk and talks this weekend. You’ll find out more about lightning bugs, fireflies, glow bugs (whatever you like to call them) from Dr. Larry Buschman, entomologist and firefly expert. Fireflies play a vital role in understanding the health of the prairie ecosystem, so get out there and find out more about them!

On Friday, June 27 from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm on the Konza Prairie Nature Trail and Saturday, June 28 from 9 pm to 11 pm at the Rocky Ford Fishing Area.

It’s $10 for FHDC members and $15 for non members.
